SONIC ELEMENTS: EARTH w/ SIRASAR BOONMA
INTRODUCTION
THIS IS PLANET EARTH!
A rammed earth pavilion built around a fallen tree, that invites listeners to navigate around the twist and turns of a majestic lifeform that was once standing tall in the fields.
The pavilion can be seen as a metaphor of decay, a transition of materials, and a return to mother nature.

LISTEN
Inspired by the concept of earth and Sirasar Boonma’s soundscape composed from recordings of ceremonial natures from the ethnic minorities in Thailand, including Tai Song Dum, Muzer and Hmong, there is an overwhelming sense of conviction that there is life after death. Often these songs and chants are means of communication with the spirit. The mythological role here is to mediate between the living and the sacred.
